In February I managed to read three hard sci fi novels which for me was a huge accomplishment.
I started with
I started with
Mothership by Tony Chandler
It is not the best science fiction story out there or the most accurate depiction of an AI you will probably encounter. Despite all that, I found my self clouding on more than one occasion and rooting for the good guys and that, considering that I am out of my genre completely here, was for me a revelation. Does Four and a half stars compute mother?
after that I read the
Spin by Robert Charles Wilson
and finally
Old Man's War by John Scalzi
Brilliant story, with fantastic characters, especially the protagonist. A must read for any serious sci-fi reader and a very interesting book for all. I want to give it 5.5 stars. Seriously.

I read it during a sci fi dare along with another two novels from different authors. I tried to like it, but none of the characters went under my skin. Too long and very difficult to read. 2.5 stars.
